A special message for those in the Greater Melbourne
Firstly, we'd like to acknowledge all our runners/walkers/movers who are taking part in Greater Melbourne. With restrictions tightening we are thinking of you all at this time and want you to know that you are not alone.
We encourage you to still take part in the festival if you feel comfortable but to do so in the safest possible way.
The new restrictions mean that those in the Greater Melbourne area can exercise outdoors a maximum of 1 hour per day within 5km of their home.
If your total distance will take you longer than 1 hour please spread the run over several days so that you can safely complete your full distance in sections. Stay in your local area and plan your route beforehand so that you aren't more than 5km from your home at any time.
Your safety and the safety of all our participants across the nation is our number one concern. No matter how you take part, or when, be proud that you are doing your bit to support youth mental health.
What is Run for the Herd?
With so many running events cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19 this winter we can’t all get together to run. So we've launched Run for the Herd - a virtual running festival for individuals and teams to take part and be part of a herd - running, walking and moving over the one weekend to support youth mental health.
So tighten those laces and get ready to make a difference. You can take part anywhere, running or walking your choice of 5k, 10k, 21.1k Half Marathon, 42.2k Full Marathon or if you’re brave 50k Ultra Marathon!! You can complete your mission anytime over the weekend of the 7th, 8th, 9th of August 2020!
Join the festival
Are you ready for the weekend? We've got some special guests tuning in from 7:00am on Saturday to hype you up and cheer you on (virtually) this weekend.
We really want you to get involved this weekend in whatever way you like! There are over 400 of you taking part so let's show each other some virtual support
Did you know?
Every $25 raised gets a young person through one of our batyr@school programs. Raise $1,000 and you’ll have put 50 young people through a program that smashes the stigma and encourages a young person to reach out for help. Need some help getting your fundraising started?
Teams
Rounding up a team and taking on an event together is a great way to engage your staff and improve staff wellbeing. It also provides a fantastic opportunity to come together and have a significant impact through fundraising.
